Tammie FRASER Notice
Tamsen Lee Kopp Fraser, known to most as Tammie Fraser, died Thursday, December 26, 2013, in Los Osos, California after a four-year battle with ovarian cancer. Tammie was the first baby born in Hollywood, California in 1942. She was an elegant woman and gourmet cook who loved hosting dinner parties for friends and family. She was politically active in both in Tiburon, Ca. through parks and recreation and in Newport Beach with SPON. While living in the Russian River area she contributed to a wide variety of wonderful causes including the River Keepers, Worth Our Weight, and the Guerneville School Garden. Tammie loved camping, hiking the hills and on the coast, and most of all kayaking on the Russian River, an activity she introduced to friends, many of whom went on to purchase their own kayaks. Her last wishes to friends included the hope that the River will survive and thrive. As a devoted single mother, she championed her son's various endeavors and as a cat lover, she cared for not only her beloved cats, but many of the feral visitors who were lucky enough to discover her lovely home in the trees. Her fondest wish came true when she became a grandmother. She doted on her grandson Ford and loved him beyond measure. Tammie Fraser is survived by her son, Alan, his wife Shari, her grandson Ford, her brother Doug, niece Kim, and grandnephew and niece, Tanner and Taylor. A celebration kayak and picnic will be held in her honor in the spring. Contact her son, Alan at <A HREF=mailto:[email protected]> [email protected] </A> . Please consider contributions in her name to, Russian River Keepers, Guerneville School Garden or Worth our Weight, Santa Rosa.
