William Anders Obituary

William Paul Anders was born in 1924 in Orange, Texas. He was an only child and was raised by his father, William Jackson Anders. He enlisted in the Navy and continued his college education through the Navy. He married the love of his life, Mildred Anders in 1945 and had 10 children (eight boys and two girls). He served 31 years in the United States Navy fighting in three wars (World War II, Korea and Vietnam). After serving his country, he moved his family to California to be near his wife's mother. He continued to care for his family by working at Goodman Lumber Company, Fireman's Fund Insurance and Goldridge Elementary School. He was well-known in his community as "Coach", "Elvis", and "The Crossing Guard at Goldridge." His love for his family was evident by his sacrificing for his country and the need to ensure his wife and children would be taken care of when it was his time to soar into the sky. His legacy will continue on through his beloved wife of 64 years, Mildred "Millie" Anders; his children Donald, Bill, Joe, James, Kenny, David, Merla, Missy; his grandchildren: Shawn, Joshua, Mark, Stephanie, David Brinkley, Jr., Regina, Ursula, Domonique, Alexander, Cassidy, Michael, Angelina, Nicole, Jennifer, Phillip; his great grandchildren Natalia, Cali, James, Amanda, Allie, Lauren, Lindsey, Joshua, Jr., Devin, Rowan, Noah; his extended family, Cheryl, Peri, Kristine and Sarah and Joe Wade Haskins and family. (He will be joining his sons, Stephen and Michael). William Paul Anders lived his life with strength, dignity, pride, devotion and love which will remain forever and ongoing through his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. You will be missed always but will be forever in our hearts! Funeral Services will be held at Duggan's Sierra Mortuary in Daly City, California, April 19, 2010, 11:00 a.m.
