Mary-Anne was born November 3, 1913 in Norwalk, Connecticut. She passed away October 10, 2013. Mary-Anne was the loving wife of Franklin (d), mother of Kent, mother-in-law of Tory, and cherished grandmother of Jasmine and Dylan. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Mary-Anne attended Nor-walk High School where she played on the basketball team that won the state title. She received a B.S. at Syracuse University in Sociology and Masters in Social Work at Smith College. She served in World War II at U.S. army hospitals and went on to Australia where she became the head of the Red Cross Unit. Mary-Anne worked as a social worker in Boston, New York City, D.C. and California. She volunteered for the American Assoc. of Univ. Women and the California Academy of Sciences. Mary-Anne had a passion for animals (particularly cats), exercise, dancing, golf and her grandchildren most of all. Her sweet laugh and big smile will be missed by all that ever grew to know her. A memorial to celebrate her life will be held in Nicasio, CA on November 3rd, what would have been her 100th birthday. The family respectfully re-quests that memorial remem-brances be made to the Marin Humane Society.
