54, of Santa Rosa, CA died peacefully in his home on June 11, 2014 after a courageous battle against prostate cancer and complications from it. Brian was born May 23, 1960 in Petaluma, California, to parents Raymond Joseph and Marie Jeanette White. He is survived by his mother Marie, brother Gregory Jay White and niece Kalei Lynn White. Most of Brian's professional career was spent in the restaurant and landscape construction industries. When not working or socializing, his passion was landscape design, as highlighted by two beautiful gardens he created, one at his mother's home, and the other at his home in Santa Rosa. He was also a passionate believer in health through proper nutrition. A ceremony of life is planned for Brian at his home with family and close friends. Memorial donations to Brian's spiritual epicenter, Ananda Sangha Worldwide (, would be greatly appreciated.

I remember Brian from many years ago when he attended a meditation class I offered in Santa Rosa one summer. I also remember that Brian was close to my dear friend, Richard Nelson, in the middle of the 1980s in San Francisco. Even though there was a lot of suffering during that time, Brian as a young man was willing to embrace others and support them however he was able. Goodbye, my friend.

I still think about Brian often and remember him for the kind man that he was. I miss our long talks over the phone, they always made me feel better. When I have a particularly bad day, or just feel the need to, I will look up to the sky and talk to Brian letting him know that I am holding a good thought for him and I will never forget him. RIP my friend, sorely missed.

Brian, You were such a kind and gentle soul. You always looked for , and found beauty around you, like the ducks in the pond where you would go biking. I still can't believe you are gone, but you will always live on in my heart.
Your fellow Gemini friend, always

Brian was a dear, kind and generous man. He had a wonderful open, fun loving and genuine personality and oh so handsome that man was. You always knew where you stood with him, I loved that quality about him. He opened his home to friends and was a gracious host. He loved good food, wine and great beer. We often saw each other at the Russian River Brewing Co years ago when they had great music. Brian was a lover of music and loved to dance. I remember dancing at the Brewery with Brian. He loved the band HugeLarge and so do I. For his birthday I gave him a CD of their music several years ago, they are a fun cool locate band. I met Brian when I started working at John Ash & Co in 1985. I was in a very lonely difficult time in my life and the staff there became my second family. Opening their hearts to me and of course Brian did also. I will keep him in my heart and his dear friend and mine James Corrigan whom Brian lovely cared for until he passed. Rest in peace my gentle friend.
