Robert Frederick "Bob" Domey

WEST SWANTON, VT. — Robert Frederick "Bob" Domey, 55, a lifelong resident of this area, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, at his home. He was born in St. Albans, Vt., on May 4, 1952, the son of Evelyn (Uren) Domey and the late Philip R. Domey.

Bob was a 1970 graduate of Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans and then started as a mail clerk for the F.W. Myers & Company, working his way up to a customs broker. At the time of his death, he was manager of U.S. Regulatory and Compliance Division with the Metro Customs Brokers in Rouses Point, N.Y. Bob was very involved in the Missisquoi Amateur Hockey Association when his son Baron was growing up. His greatest enjoyment was being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his mother, Evelyn Domey of St. Albans; his wife, Alice (Kimbell) Domey; their son, Baron Philip Domey of Dana Point, Calif.; their daughter, Pamela Suzanne Stocks and her husband Jeff of Holly Springs, N.C., a foreign exchange student who they thought of as their daughter, Naoelle Mejout of Paris, France; his two brothers, Brian Domey and his wife Judy of St. Albans and Geoff Domey and his wife Jeannine of Swanton; two grandchildren, Logan Park Stocks and Aidan Christopher Stocks; four nephews, Cody Nicholas Domey, Steven Michael Domey, Jason Kyle Domey and Christopher Jon Domey; a special friend, Suzanne Kirk of Rouses Point, N.Y. Bob is also survived by his mother and father-in-law, Arthur R. and Mona J. Kimbell of Brownsville, Vt.; and 12 brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Philip R. Domey, on Aug. 16, 2004; and his sister, Pamela Jane Domey in 1957.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the Heald Funeral Chapel, 87 South Main St., St. Albans, with Pastor Malcolm White officiating. Interment will be this spring in Greenwood Cemetery in St. Albans.

Bob's family will receive friends on Sunday, Jan. 14th, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
