Doug McComber Obituary

Doug McComber "Frog" Dec 1, 1947 - March 7, 2009 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dearly loved husband, father, brother and son. Doug is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Bambi (Jerry), his sons Kevin (Marie), Jamie (Rebecca), Todd (Lisa), Ryan and Bear. Father Vern, sister Lorett (Jim), brothers Larry and Garry, all of his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family & friends. Doug was predeceased by his mother May. The worlds fastest logger will be dearly missed. We didn't know that evening, that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one, the chain will be linked again. There will be a Celebration of Doug's life, on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Northwood Motor Inn. Potluck to follow, for further information please contact Tamara 613-6501 or Collette 617-3500. Donation can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Linda and family. My deepest and most heartfelt condolences go to all of you. I remember many great times with Doug and all of you, at Summit Lake, the shops, etc. He was always "there" with a smile. Your memories of him will last forever. Especially the one where someone drove his brand new chev diesel through the tough truck competion without permission!! Which son was that again?? Jaime? Kevin? It's ok to laugh.......he would want you too.........

Linda, Ryan and family,
We will always remember Doug as our Ryan's second dad. He treated him as his own. Doug had a huge heart for kids and his passing has left a void in all of their hearts. He touched a lot of lives and he will be greatly missed.

With Great Love. Linda, Ryan, Bambi, Kevin, Jamie, Todd and all of the grandchildren. I will never forget the skiing trip with Doug, Linda, Todd and I in Jasper and Linda and I on the cb radio while Doug and Todd where having their big open mouth laughs at Linda and I. He will be greatly missed by so many and those grandchildren that were so close to their Grandpa Doug...He will be in our hearts forever and the laughs will be greatly missed.

Linda and Family please accept our heartfelt sympathy for your great loss. When we moved to PG in 1977 and went to the bush to get our first load of logs it was Doug running the loader. Ever after he always had a friendly greeting and chat anytime we met and he loaded lots of our trucks over the years as did his sons. He will be greatly missed by the industry. Unfortunately we are out of town at this time but our thoughts are with you.
