Words can't really explain the heaviness of this news and writing this after knowing him growing up makes it even harder. He was pure gold and he'll always be remembered for the genuine good that he brought to this world

My heart aches for your family. Ryan was an amazing young man. I had the pleasure of working with him at Rainbow & Jubilee. He was so good with our seniors. He was so much fun to work with. Draw close to God & He will draw close to you. He will get you through this tough time.

Ryan was the first Mariner I met when getting Sara and Iain settled in Nanaimo. I remember wondering if all the volleyball gang would be that welcoming and friendly. Turns out most were, but I think Ryan was the measuring stick. He always made sure Iain was set whenever he was on the court especially when I was there to watch. Both my children have such amazing memories. He will be in the hearts of all the Harringtons always.

Robin, AJ and Kody: the size and the emotions at the church on Saturday was such an endearing and enduring memory and testiment to who exactly Ryan was as a person. The range of ages there and the depth of the comments resulted in a very clear picture of his touching affects on people. We were very thankful to have been able to attend but even more to have known Ryan and all of you. Pat and Charlie Grove

His smile and presence lit up the hallways of VIU's management building while I was there going to school. A kind man, who was always willing to answer questions, speak to the younger students, and and absolute pleasure to watch on the Volleyball court as well. My condolences to the family. He will be missed.
