Morris Henderson Obituary

Mr. Morris "Frankie"' Henderson, of Petersburg, Va. (formerly of Dinwiddie), was called to be with his father on March 16, 2010.

He was born May 31, 1935. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Pauline; two sons, Morris and Sherman Henderson; also two sisters, Lee Ella Easter and Vernie Ripley. He was baptized at an early age at the Olive Branch Baptist Church in Dinwiddie. He was a product of the Dinwiddie Public School System. Frankie worked at Brenco Inc. and retired from the Dinwiddie Public Schools.

He leaves to cherish his memory four children, Shelia, Felix, Maurice and Bonita Henderson, all of Petersburg, Va.; three sisters, Annie Ruth Satterwhite of Montclair, N.J., Barbara Lucille Person of Petersburg, Va., and devoted sister, Marjorie V. Henderson of Dinwiddie, Va. Also, he leaves one aunt, Henrietta Manson of Petersburg, Va.; two brothers, Bertram Henderson Jr. of Maryland amd Rayfield Henderson of Montclair, N.J.; five brothers-in-law, Solomon Satterwhite, Montclair, N.J., Robert Wingfield Jr., James Daniel Wingfield (Sarah), Samuel Wingfield (Katriana), all of Dinwiddie, Va., and Wilburt Leon ingfield of Petersburg; three sisters-in-law, Allie W. Henderson of Dinwiddie, Mildred Eloise Wilkins (George) and Glenda Gholson (Lawrence), both of Petersburg; a host of nieces, nephews, and a devoted friend, Sterling Gholson of Dinwiddie, Va.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 22, 2010, at the Olive Branch Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, with the pastor, the Rev. Kevin Northam, officiating. Burial will commence at the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Sunday March 21, 2010, at the Petersburg Chapel. The family will receive friends and relatives at the residence of his sister, Barbara (Lucille) Person at 1505 Regency Court, (804) 862-2785.
