Benno Bartel Obituary
He was the loving husband of 62 years to Sigrid (Menke) Bartel.
He was born in Koenigshuette, Germany, son of the late Augustyn and Martha (Cichon) Bartel.
Benno was a mechanical engineer for the former Amperex Co., in Slatersville, for 25 years, and from where he retired. He was with the Harrisville Boy Scouts Troop #1.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Ulrich "Rick" Bartel, and his wife, Diane, of Foster; and Martin Bartel, and his wife, Melissa, of East Hampton, Conn. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael, Erik, Nora and Lily.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Brown Funeral Home, 1496 Victory Hwy., Oakland. Burial will follow in Acotes Hill Cemetery in Chepachet. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 until 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
