To the Family of Mrs. Tootell;
My mother, Evelyn Hebert Langevin was in the graduating class of 1933 from Rhode Island College of Education along with Miss Lucy Rawlings. Although I don't know of their possible friendship, I have always known of their graduation together. I have lived in Wyoming for nearly thirty eight years but only once made Mrs. Tootell's acquaintance at the release of her wonderful history of Richmond back in the mid 1970's. A great Lady and a loss to us all.

To the Tootell family, Those of us who had the honor of knowing Lucy Tootell were amazed by her energy, her grace and her smile. I was blessed to have had the opportunity to award her the University's highest recognition, the honorary doctoral degree in 1997. Please accept my sincere condolences on her passing.

To Mrs. Tootell's entire family, I send you my heartfelt condolences on her passing. She was a woman larger than life. I admired her from a young age as I grew up down the street from where she lived. I still drive by her home in Richmond and it will always and forever be "Mrs. Tootell's house," no matter who lives there now.

To the entire Tootell family. Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of Lucy. I have many pleasant memories of the many bus rides we took to track meets with her accompanying us with "Toot" and her ever present smile (and the ever present Olympic Gold Medal). Some of my fondest memories are of babysitting for the Tootell children in the house on upper college road.
Again my condolences.
