Davis, Barbara Ann
Barbara Ann Davis, 82, of Warwick, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Kent Hospital, she was the wife of 39 years of the late William "Bill" R. Davis. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Cotter) Brown.
Barbara was a graduate of the Assumption School in Providence. After establishing her family, she continued her education and earned an Associate's Degree at the Community College of Rhode Island. She was a career employee of the State of Rhode Island, serving in both the Department of Children, Youth and Families, and the Department of Human Services. She was also long-time communicant of St. Gregory the Great Church in Warwick and a proud member of the Red Hat Society.
Barbara had a keen sense of humor and valued spending time with her family and friends most of all. She loved Ireland, dogs of all kind, and bourbon Manhattans, preferably made perfect and served with a sidecar.
She is survived by her children, Colonel William R. Davis, III of Portsmouth, NH, John J. Davis and his wife Donna (Fulford) of West Warwick, her grandson, Connor J. Davis, along with her step- grandchildren Rebecca, Kyle and Zachary Fulford.
Barbara is predeceased by her brother John E. Brown, sister Marilyn G. Wills, and a sister who died in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11AM on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Rd, Warwick. Interment will be private. A livestream of the Funeral Mass will be available at:
