HAROLD A. SYMES

SYMES, HAROLD A., 100, of Palm Blvd., died Friday at home. He was the husband of the late Marie (Sleight) Symes.

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, a son of the late Jeremiah J. and Helen (Doyle) Symes, he had been a Warwick resident since 1984 and had previously resided in College Park, MD. Mr. Symes began his career as a member of the Typographical Union and worked as a printer for the Jersey Journal & Bayonne Times. He moved to Washington, D.C., in 1940 where he worked for the U.S. Government Printing Office and retired as the Editorial Director for the U.S. Senate Public Works Committee in 1971.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia, one son, Denis J. Symes of Vienna, VA, one daughter, Eileen S. Geremia of The Villages, FL, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, two step-daughters, Anne O'Connell of Warwick and Virginia Leoni of West Warwick and their extended families.

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 AM from the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Peter Church, Fair St., Warwick, at 10 AM. Calling hours Monday 4-7 PM.
