McGUIRE, HERBERT H.
90, died Tuesday at Riverview Healthcare, Coventry. Born in Fall River, MA, a son of the late Walter H. and Eleanor E. (Jacques) McGuire, he was for 64 years the beloved husband of Joan A. (Clarke) McGuire.
Herb was a US Military veteran who served in the Merchant Marines during WWII and in the Army during the Korean War. He worked as an electronic technician for the United States Department of the Navy.
A member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, East Greenwich, he previously was a member of the former Church of St. Andrew and St. Philip.
He was a past master of Warwick Lodge #16 F&AM, now affiliated with Mount Vernon Lodge #4 and a Past Grand Master of the Masonic Grand Lodge of RI. His Masonic affiliations also included St. John's Lodge #1P; Scottish Rite Valley of Providence and the RI Shriners.
Aside from his wife he is survived by three children: Stephen T. McGuire (wife Maureen), Timothy W. McGuire (wife Colleen) and Cynthia J. Lewis (husband Everett); six grandchildren and three great grandsons. He was the brother of Lindell Kelleher, Nancy Turner, Ralph McGuire & William Holt.
Calling hours at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick Sunday 4–6 PM. Masonic Memorial Service at 6 PM. Funeral service at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Peirce Street, East Greenwich Monday at 11 AM. Burial with military honors in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
