ARPIN, PAUL G., SR., 85, a long time resident of E. Greenwich passed away June 12, 2010 at home. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Margaret M."Peggy" (Fay) Arpin. Born in Providence he was the son of the late Adolph and Louise (Champagne) Arpin.
Mr. Arpin was the owner and chairman of the Arpin Group, which has grown into the 4th largest global moving company headquartered in the United States. He returned from WWII in 1945, as a D- Day survivor to rejoin the family business as a partner and extended the legacy to a 3rd generation.
Besides his wife he is survived by sons David and Peter, who continue as the 4th generation in the family business, and son Stephen, a daughter Patty; and grandchildren Abby, Devin, Meredith and Taylor. He was the father of the late Paul Arpin, Jr., who was also a veteran.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Fourth Ave., E. Greenwich. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Calling hours Tuesday 5-8pm at The Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., E. Greenwich. In lieu of flowers donations to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank would be appreciated.
