Dear Michael, Doreen and family,
I remember you well from our high school years. You were a caring family who reached out to others. I am sorry to hear of your loss. I hope that as time goes on, memories of happier times with Stephen will be what you think of most, rather than the tragedy of his passing. I speak from experience, as I lost my only brother 9 years ago. The earliest grief is the hardest. Over time you will find that you still have so much of your brother with you - the memories that no one can take away from you.

Steve and I used to ride motorcycles together years ago back in my wild days...though our lives took different tracks, I always remember what a good and loyal friend he was back in the early 80s. We just reconnected on Face Book about a year or so ago. My condolences to his family who ALWAYS treated me so kindly.

To The Marra Family and All Of Stephen's Loved Ones~
Stephen was a man that all could be proud of. He had a heart bigger that Rhode Island. He was a gentle-man gentleman and always had a heart for people and the concern for others. We had a lot in common us Marra's; even as TWINS!!! My prayers go out to Mike, Edith, Doreen, and all those that loved Steve dearly that are left behind to find peace and comfort knowing that you all are in the palm of the hands of the Lord. Steve is at rest now but had a monumental respect for the restaurant and food industry and loved to make people happy with his talents. Stephen knew that the way to people's joy and happiness was through their stomach with great food and a friendly atmosphere. He had a tremendous and vibrant personality and that wonderful smile always put everyone at ease. All I can say is:

On many occasions he added a much needed smile to my heart. His love was infectious and I always left the room seeing him somehow happier then when I entered. November 1989...a few friends from Alais Smith & Jones decide to go downtown to JR's Fastlane for last call; time...probably midnight...Steve picked up his newly painted Harley from the shop that afternoon and decided, what the heck, it's only 35 degrees, I can ride to Providence. We follow one another up Division Rd and onto Rt. 95 heading to Providence. We see Steve pull into the breakdown lane just before Exit 10...we follow. He replies, "I ran out of gas!" Now what!!! He took a minute, stepped into the woods and walked out with a gallon jug with just enough gasoline in it to get him to the next gas station, and I'm thinking....how lucky is this guy!!!
The truth of the matter is how lucky I was to have met such a remarkable man. Since that time, we've shared laughs, tears, jokes, dinner, drinks, birthdays, holidays, friends, family, and my wedding day.
To the Marra Family, and my best friend Gina...cherish the memories we have, let them bring us comfort today and in the days to come...And to my good friend Steve....may God wrap you in his loving arms as you did when I needed you...You have a special place up there, I'm sure. God Speed Ahead on your Harley into Heaven...~xoxox~

To a great leader, mentor, and friend. My deepest sympathy to his family, friends, and Louie and Fonzie, the pups that he absolutely adored. I remember when he adopted Fonzie from a rescue league out of state - how happy he was to finally welcome Fonzie home. What a process it was to get that little guy! All the while, he was helping me organize my first gala for breast cancer awareness. He truly is a gem.
His kind acts and heart will carry on through every life he touched. He will always be remembered for the honorable man that he is and will be greatly missed.

Steve and I graduated from Tolgate together in 1976. I moved to Potowomut shortly after graduation and run into him frequently over the years, always with a big smile and a warm hello.
