Nelson Brien Obituary

BRIEN, NELSON J., 79, of Coventry, passed away peacefully at Coventry Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center on 1/16/2013. Born in Providence, he was son of the late Albert and Yvonne (Dusseault) Brien. A graduate of Classical High School, he was also a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a milkman for HP Hood and retired as a machinist for Electric Boat in Quonset. Nelson was also a waiter and bartender at many local well-known restaurants with his friends Cleo Boisvert and Armand Broulliard. He is survived by his loving children, James and his wife Ann-Marie of Coventry, Richard of West Warwick, and Thomas and his wife Leslie of Garner, NC. He was the proud Pepere of Kevin, Madeline, and Derick Brien as well as the late Neil Brien. He was the former husband of Muriel Brien. He was brother of the late Muriel Lusignan, Roland Brien, Francis Brien and Claire Mournighan. His funeral will be held on Saturday, January 19, at 9 a.m. from the Potvin & Cotter Funeral Home, 45 Curson Street, West Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Washington Street, West Warwick. Visiting hours are Friday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
