Tim and Liam -

Having worked with Beth for many years as a member of the Social Studies Department, I know how dedicated she was to her students.
I enjoyed our conversations about new teaching ideas and respected her special commitment to the Holocaust course.

On a personal level, we often chatted about non-school things. So very important to Beth were the two of you. I think it is this devotion that I shall most remember.

Beth Coen was an exemplar of that blend of character and intellect that set so few of us apart from the rest.

I will remember her as being kind, caring and loving---a very special person who was there for my child in a moment when it made a real difference.

It is in thinking about so many others who will never know her, that say that we are all cheated by the death that has claimed her.

Tim and Liam,

As a former student of Mrs Coen's (SKHS class of 2000) I was shocked and saddened to hear of her recent passing. I can speak for many of my classmates when I say she was one of our most beloved teachers. We will really miss Mrs Coen; she touched so many lives, and will live on in the lessons that she taught me and all of her students.

I am a former classmate of Beth's and would like to say that she truly was a positive person with a sweet character.

My sincere condolences, Tim, Liam and family, in the loss of Beth. Beth and I worked together at Second Beach when we were in college, and she was such a character -- and always so full of life. I can still picture her zipping around on her Chappy on those hot, crazy summer weekends. I think that may even be where you met, Tim -- if I recall, you were the head lifeguard at the time, and she used to call you her big teddy bear. Although I haven't seen Beth in years, I still have vivid images of her, and she is smiling or laughing in every one. My heart goes out to you as you go through this difficult time, but when things get really tough I'm sure she would want you to close your eyes and see her smiling at you.

When I did have the opportunity to chat with her, she made me feel like I had known her forever. Just wanted Beth's family to know that her smile and presence will definitely be missed at SKHS.
