I remember whenever David would attend a NP Preservation Comm. meeting how substantive his input would be. Always meaningful and valuable comments. He was a great & missed friend.

Iris, I am so sorry for your loss. He was such a bright light in this world that left us way too soon. So many happy memories of Dave at Maguire and when we were all in ME at Bob's camp. He was so knowledgeable on diverse topics and always kept us laughing. I planted the memorial trees because I'm sure he would have liked the idea. I will miss him and wish you and your family strength in your grief.

It grieves me to write this condolence. David and I were fast friends in our youth, but as we were older, grew apart and lost touch. There are many fond memories that I will cherish of my dear friend. Strength and peace are my wishes for the family for your lose.

Dear Iris,
I wanted to send my sincere sympathy to you, your children and David's extended family on his passing. I was very saddened to recently hear of David's death and want to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers for comfort during this very difficult time.
As a Scituate high school classmate of David's, I recall him as a person of intelligence and compassion who also displayed a great sense of humor and super smile!
May God's grace support you and your family at this time.

Dearest Iris, Katy and Ian - As I think you know, Dave was incredibly special to me, having nurtured my lifelong desire to spin after so many years of being told I couldn't. I will always remember his incredible wit, his amazing ability to draw others into his love of fiber arts, his warmth and friendliness, his depth of knowledge on a hugely broad array of subjects, his passion for the environment, his musical talent, his empathy and compassion and most of all, his ability to make a friend feel truly welcome and loved in his presence. I feel so blessed to have been able to share a little part of his life. I wish I could hug you all, but since this time makes that impossible, know that my heart is with all of you. With all my love -

I was fortunate to get to work with Dave on a couple Maguire projects, and it was something I always looked forward to. He was funny, smart, and the results were always professional. He was a noted if eccentric planner as well as fiber artist, and I mean that in the most complimentary of ways. My condolences to the Westcott family.

My path first crossed with Dave in the early 80's at C.E. Maguire. Latter, during the years of the 2000's, I would see him at Boy Scout events. I would always enjoy our brief conversations.

When expressing his thoughts and ideas on a subject, he did so with the qualities of your favorite teacher. His humor reminded me of Bob Newhart.

I'm saddened to hear of his passing.

My sympathy to his family and friends.
May God Bless.

Dear Iris, I knew your husband only a few years but I knew his grandmother and father from years ago when I was doing research about Angell Rd. To sum up, the Westcott family is t he best and David, you are the families shining light. In the short time I knew you an impression was made on me that will never fade. The only word I can think of to summarize your life and you is the BEST. I'm looking forward to seeing you again in another life.

You touched the lives of so many people in a positive way, Dave. More than you could have imagined. It was a pleasure and honor working with you and for you while we were at Maguire Group together. I appreciated your wit, brilliance, and positivity and will always ask myself in when faced with challenging environmental planning issues: "What would David have done?" Your legacy will live on for a long, long time. Rest in peace. The planning world will sorely miss you.

We'll all miss your humor and wit, Dave. Working with you helped me so much - first to understand Maguire, but also in learning how important it was to understand the ways and means of people. You always made it fun (even if we all had to stay late to finish a proposal or something). Will miss you.
