Alma V. Patterson Woods Lawver, 82, of York, PA, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013 in her home. Born on March 12, 1931 in Fannettsburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late Roy G. Patterson and Mabel E. Woolett Patterson Griffith. Alma was a wonderful homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother, and daughter. She loved family gatherings and taking care of children. She also enjoyed music, dancing, cooking, playing cards, and flower arranging. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in York. Alma is survived by 10 children, Virginia A. Cummins (Richard) of Fannettsburg, Linda D. Woods of York, Gloria J. Carlin (Luther) of Spring Run, Debra K. Kottcamp (Keith) of Red Lion, Paula I. Woods (Gary Hill) of York, Donna M. Shoop (Paul) of Burnt Cabins, Steven M. Lawver (Lisa) of Virginia Beach, Va, Scott E. Woods (Deborah) of Orrstown, Earl G. Lawver and Nancy L. Hoover (James) all of York; son-in-law, David Witmer of Malta, Mont.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the widow of her two late husbands, Paul W. Woods and Earl Lawver Jr. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Carson E. Patterson; two daughters, Barbara L. Witmer and Darlene A. Holloway; grandson Mark A. Carlin; and companion, John E. Flagle. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2013 in the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run, PA with Rev. Marlin A. "Butch" Neil officiating. Interment will follow in Lower Path Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
