Stephen L. Woodring

Stephen L. Woodring Mr. Stephen L. Woodring, 64, of 13864 Harbaugh Church Road, Waynesboro, died Thursday evening, January 30, 2014 in his home. Born June 19, 1949 in Waynesboro, he was the son of Henry R. Woodring of Waynesboro and the late Mary Ann (Lecron) Woodring. He was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area. Steve graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the class of 1967. In his early years, he worked for Waynesboro Construction. He was currently the owner and operator of S.L. Woodring Excavating, which he operated in the Waynesboro area for many years. Steve was a member of the Wayne Heights Brethren Church and the Owl's Club, both of Waynesboro. He enjoyed drag racing, nascar, hunting, and in his younger years he enjoyed playing softball. In addition to his father, he is survived by two sisters, Deborah S. Hoover and her husband, Richard of York, PA and Robin S. Flegel and her husband, Terry of Waynesboro; his cousin whom he considered to be a brother, Rod L. Woodring of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his son, Tyler L. Woodring, who died on January 14, 2005. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday evening, February 3, 2014 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Services and burial in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, will be private at the convenience of the family.
