Sally G. (Faith) Bowling, 73, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday evening, September 3, 2017 at ManorCare Health Services following a courageous battle of more than 30 years with Multiple Sclerosis. Born February 8, 1944 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Richard J. Faith, Sr. and Grace E. Fogal Faith. Sally was a 1961 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School and following graduation spent a year in South America as part of a Catholic mission trip. A homemaker most of her life, Sally was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and a former member of the AmVets and American Legion Auxiliaries in Chambersburg. Her hobbies included working with ceramics. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her husband, Larry E. Bowling, whom she married April 20, 1963, preceded her in death on July 31, 2014.
Sally is survived by three daughters, Barbara L. Shaffer (Frederick) of Chambersburg, Loretta E. Albright (David) of Fayetteville, and Tracey E. Moore (Charles) of Chambersburg; twelve grandchildren, Amber, Jeffrey, Tiffiny, Courtney, Sean, Tashia, Brandon, Brittiny, Sabrina, Christian, Kiera, and Kiana; two adopted grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Mary Ann Hull (Ronald), Nancy Barnhart (late Rodger), and Judy Reasner (Earl); and two brothers, Richard J. Faith, Jr. (Emily) and Ronald Faith (Susan), all of Chambersburg. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, two brothers, and a granddaughter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Brian T. Olkowski at 1 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2017 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg.
