Leona Fay Sites Obituary
Leona Fay Sites 79, of Mercersburg passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012 in the Chambersurg Hospital. She was born on May 30, 1933 in Edenville, PA the daughter of the late Chester B. and Louella Diffenderfer Shatzer. A past member of the Rose Society, AARP, she was also a member of the NRA, a lifetime member of the St. Thomas Lutheran Church and a 1951 graduate of St. Thomas High School. Leona worked 27 years at the Stanley Company. She enjoyed traveling, word searches, watching birds and squirrels and her favorite pastime was listening to her great grandson tell her stories. Surviving her are her daughter, Sherry (Jon) Bender, Mercersburg, granddaughter, Heather R. (Jerry) Burkett, St. Thomas and a great grandson, Ty Robinson, a brother, Dick (Connie) Shatzer, Dillsburg, two sisters: Lorraine Evans, Fayetteville and Vickie L. (Paul) McClain, Greencastle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" E. Sites and a brother Ted Shatzer. The Funeral Service will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the William F. Sellers Funeral Home with the Rev. Warren Heintzelman officiating. There will be a Visitation held at the funeral Home one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
