Dennis J. Plocharczyk, Sr., 57, of 105 Hamilton Ave. Waynesboro, passed away peacefully in his home on January 8, 2013. Born March 21, 1955 in Middletown, NY, he was the son of his stepfather, the late Babby Babcock, and his mother, Wilma (Roe) Plocharczyk. He spent his early years in Bloomingburg, NY. Dennis married Kimberly A. (Rowe) Plocharczyk in Las Vegas, NV on September 27, 2006. Dennis loved his job, working at David H. Martin Excavating Inc., where he worked for about 18 years, before retiring in November, 2012. Dennis enjoyed fishing, gaming, Facebook, NASCAR, WV football and mushroom hunting. He also loved playing pool, winning a tournament to go play in Las Vegas, and was a proud member of APA. He was a member of I.B.E.W. Local 1249 Union and a social member of Ridgeley, WV, VFW Post 6452. In addition to his wife,Dennis is survived by his mother: Wilma Plocharczyk, Bloomingburg, NY; his children: Rachael Norris, and her husband, Jeff, Cartersville, GA, Angela Milton, and her husband, Leon, Acworth, GA and Dennis Plocharczyk, Jr., and his girlfriend, Christy Shook, Cartersville, GA; his step-children: Kimberly Strawbridge, Chambersburg, Erika McDowell, St. Thomas, PA and Melissa Hollinger, St. Thomas, PA; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; several step-grandchildren; his siblings: Charles Plocharczyk, and his wife, Nancy, Burlingham, NY, Betty Doutt, Austin TX, and her husband, Cliff, Frederick, MD, Linda Morrisey and her husband, Jack, Austin TX and Diane Michalowski, Otisville, NY; several nieces and nephews and his in-laws, Sue and Rod Rowe who treated him more like a son and friend than a son-in-law. In addition to his step-father, he was preceded in death by a sister: Marion Plocharczyk and a nephew, William Morrisey. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
