William J. "Bill" McAninch Obituary
William J. "Bill" McAninch, 84, of Brookville, passed away on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, at Penn Highlands Brookville.

Bill was born Jan. 21, 1933, in DuBois, the son of the late Leonard McAninch and Mildred Miller McAninch.

On Dec. 8, 1951, in Brookville, he married Margie Ann Swineford, who passed away in March of 2010.

Bill worked most of his life and retired as a rural mail carrier in the Brookville area.

He previously worked for the Brookville Creamery, and on the side, he worked as a carpenter, helping build many houses in the area.

For more than 30 years, he devoted his time to being a caregiver and taking care of his wife, Margie. He was a member of the First Church of God in Brookville, loved all children and animals and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, bowling, golfing and especially square dancing. Bill loved watching baseball and football and was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, but most of all, he loved his family, playing cards, especially CAD with his wife, Margie, and later playing Bingo at the McKinley Health Center.

Bill is survived by three daughters, Cathy Caylor (Rick) of Brookville, Linda Franz (Joe) of Thomasville, North Carolina, and Cheri Himes (Fuzzy) of Corsica; a son, Bill McAninch (Lori) of Brookville; a sister, Nancy Johnston of Brookville; eight grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, and from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017, at the Peterson Funeral Home, 153 Jefferson St., Brookville, with a service to follow at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Internment will take place in the Roseville-Bethel Cemetery, Union Township, Jefferson County.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Church of God, 201 Freedom Lane, Brookville, PA 15825; the McKinley Health Center, 133 Laurelbrooke Dr., Brookville, PA 15825; or the donor's choice.
