Oct. 28, 1924 - March 19, 2021 With broken hearts we must announce the passing of our mother, Amelia Draper, a longtime resident of Torrance. Millie married John Draper after the war and they raised 3 children, Denise, Lynda & John. She was active in her community teaching Arts & Crafts for the City and traveling as much as possible. Her favorite country to visit was Italy, although she had seen most of Europe and had been as far south as the Panama Canal. She was a permanent fixture at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Redondo Beach. Over she the last 30+years she had taught Sunday school, ran the church kitchen for Senior Supper, chaperoned the Youth Choir & fed them as they traveled the state and was active in her Circle bringing comfort and aid where needed. She was an accomplished seamstress and made beautiful wedding gowns for both of her daughters and made their large tiered wedding cakes as well. She was always up for a challenge! She was able to stay in her home until the very end with her son John caring for her. 'Miss Millie' was the kindest, most gentle soul with just a spark of devil that kept things fun. She will be sorely missed by her children, grandchildren and great-grand-children, nieces, nephew and friends alike. In her own hand in June of last year she wrote a note that she was ready to meet her Savior, and she has. We are praising Jesus Christ for the mother He blessed us with.

Dear Lynda, and family, I'm thankful I was able to spend a few short moments with Millie. She lit up the room with her smile and it was obvious to me she had joy for life and family. I know she will be missed and I'm thankful she is in the arms of her loving Savior. May God comfort you during this time. Cynde Knutson and family
