June 16, 1931 - Jan. 7, 2021 Maggie passed away on the morning of January 7, 2021. Born on June 16, 1931 in Simi Valley, CA to parents Concepcion and Simona Soto Ozaeta, Maggie was the last survivor of six siblings. Maggie moved to "Mexican Hollywood" San Pedro in 1946 at the age of 14. She attended Dana Jr. High and San Pedro HS. Maggie married Jorge Resendiz Escobar in 1950 and resided on "Black Hill" from 1962 until her passing. In 1952, she began working for fish canneries Van Camp and Pan Pacific until retiring in 1993. Maggie was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Jorge R. Escobar. She is survived by her children, Margarita Escobar, Mary Escobar Estrada, and George Escobar (Vivi), six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, February 23 All Souls Cemetery 4400 Cherry Ave. Long Beach, CA 90807
