1945 - 2020 Evelyn Ann Doyle (Rodrigues), age 75, passed away from cancer on August 12, 2020 at her home in Sugarloaf, CA surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Tom Doyle; Daughters, Kim Doyle and Tamara Camacho; Sons-in-law, David Klohn and Ernie Camacho; Mother, Mary Sychowski; Sister, Virginia Erekson; Grandchildren, Jessica, Breann, Sydney and Sierra; Great-grandchildren, Bella, Josh and Max, and many much-loved extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her brother Manuel Rodrigues, sister Mary Ellen Gant and father Manuel Rodrigues. Evelyn graduated from San Pedro High School in 1963 and married her best friend and love of her life Tom Doyle in 1966. She stayed at home to raise her children and later worked with her uncles at Joe's Barbershop in San Pedro for 10 years before retiring. She and Tom moved to Big Bear and also owned a home on the river near Parker Dam, AZ. She loved to spend time jet-skiing, fishing, playing cards with friends, and spending time with her grandkids. She was active in her local church and volunteered every year with Students Run LA at Banning and Port of LA High Schools. Evelyn will always be remembered as a fun, dependable, loving and generous spirit -- a beautiful soul who made a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. A memorial in her honor will be held at a later date. The family is grateful for the condolences, but declines flowers and donations. Instead the family asks that you do an act of kindness for someone in her name.

I still can't believe she is gone. We shared so many great memories together. Her smile, warmth, and love will always be remembered. We had so many bible studies in her home, powerful prayers, and always lots of fun. She had a beautiful spirit about her which radiated to everyone she would meet. Even during her illness, she had such a positive attitude and outlook. Will always miss my Miss Ev.

I knew Evelyn from the church that I used to attend. She was a BEAUTIFUL LADY and I will cherish our friendship. One time, my parents and I visited Tom and her at the hone in Sugarloaf, CA. She cooked hot dogs for our lunch and gave us a tour of her model home. She will be missed by me. One time, she helped me to organize a Surprise birthday party for my mom and she helped me out. by making it all come true. One day a bunch of the ladies goe together and we drove to the Getty Museum. Evelyn, was a GREAT driver. It was fun touring the museum, having lunch under the tree covered patio. Upon leaving the Getty Museum, we got lost and ended up by LAX when a plne flew right over us. It was scary at first. Another time was when a bunch of the ladies from our church went up to Big Bear for a "Women's Retreat". We drove up in Evelyn's car and spent a GREAT three days in the mountains before heading back home.

What a great soul and a wonderful family! One of my favorite quotes from Dr. Seuss... "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened". Evelyn will be missed. God bless.

Beautifully said obituary for a beautiful lady❤I’m crying! My heart goes out to all of you. I am so very sorry for your loss. She will be deeply missed!
Growing up, Evelyn was like a second mom to me. She (along with my own mom-RIP) made my childhood CRAZY great!! Looking back in my memories, I only remember laughter( a lot of it and I can hear it in my mind vividly), fun times (with games, trips, and neighborhood shenanigans), and all with love & support throughout the years. In this picture taken in Jan 2019, Evelyn continued to laugh & smile with love & support even with everything she was going through.
What an inspiring woman!!
RIP Evelyn. I Love You KISS my mom for me, too. Xoxo
With all my love,
