Jean was born Jean Wilder on August 12, 1933 in Hobart, Oklahoma, moving to St. Louis, MO when she was young. She came to California with a girlfriend after her High School graduation. She took secretarial training, telling her nieces that women need to learn a skill so they can always support themselves. Jean met Larry Lofthus on a blind date and they were married on October 24, 1957 at Wayfarer's Chapel in Portuguese Bend, CA They made their home in Wilmington for more than 60 years., with the last house almost 50 years. This house was their project and they loved to work on it, doing many remodeling and decorating projects over the years. Jean and Larry spent as much time as possible at the Lofthus family cabin at Big Bear Lake, with boating, water skiing and socializing with friends and family being some of their favorite activities. Jean was a good friend, loved Aunt to her nieces and nephews and Mom to her many dogs over the years. She will be missed and remembered by many. There will be no services and the family requests that any donations be sent the SPCA in her name.

Jean was my Dad's (Richard Roberts) friend/acquaintance. And I Lori Roberts only knew from going to the Lofthus family gatherings either in Wilmington, Rancho Palos Verdes. She and Larry were made for each other.

Jean was a Great Aunt, Friend and a Great Great Aunt to my dad Richard Roberts, a friend to my mom Frances Roberts and a Great Great Aunt to me Loraine Roberts. I remember the times at her house on Chandler Avenue and seeing the Old Woody station car in the garage. The dogs were great too. She was a wonderful lady and the will be missed by all who knew her.
In Heartfelt Sympathy, Richard, Frances and Lori Roberts
