Oct 21, 1936 - Jan 13, 2021 Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep with his wife at his side in Lawndale after a battle with kidney disease. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tranquilino Ramos and Nazaria Cortez Ramos, and his sister Maria del Refugio Brambila of Jalisco, Mexico. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 56 years, Maria Luisa Garcia Ramos, his five children: Maria Aurora Perez, Hilda Preciado, Carmen Moreno, Jose Luis (Kristina) Ramos, Martina Santos, and Margarita Santana, as well as his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and his sister, Carmen Aguilar Ramos of Jalisco, Mexico. Chuy (as many people knew him) started his life in this country under the Migrant Farmworker Program (Braceros), and eventually settled in Redondo Beach, California, where he was able to start his "little business" (as he called it). He loved gardening and was able to provide a nice life for his family. Through ups and downs, his little business continued to provide for the family, even beyond his retirement after age 80. He and his wife made a good life for themselves through their over 60 years of life together. Although he will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him, we know that his pain is gone and he is in the palm of God's Holy hand until we can see him again in Heaven when our time comes. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, funeral services will be done privately and are being handled by Rice Mortuary with his final resting place being at Pacific Crest Cemetery near a beloved palm tree. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to The Diabetes Foundation or The Kidney Foundation. Please go to Lighthouse Memorials & Receptions website, www.LAfuneral.com, to send the family messages and to share memories. Rest in Peace, Papa Chuy! Descanse En Paz Chuy
