09/06/1934 - 03/01/2021 On Monday, March 1st, 2021, John Orienza, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 86 after an extended illness. John was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 6th, 1934 and lived in New York until 1957. He then decided to pack up his wife Carmen (who was pregnant with his son Rick) and his year and a half-old daughter Linda and move to California. John had fallen in love with California while visiting during his time in the service and knew one day he would call it home for his family. John bought a home in San Pedro and truly made it his own -- a special place for neighbors, friends and family to gather and make memories that would last a lifetime. He completed his Associate Degree in Business, worked as a Chief Accountant for Todd Shipyards until 1979, and became the President of the CA Division of Little King Restaurants which was a chain of submarine sandwich shops until 1990. He completed his Real Estate License and joined the BIR Brokerage firm and was a Commercial Real Estate Agent for over 31 years and never retired. John had a passion for life, music, travel, his family, and he loved to play poker in Las Vegas or one of the many Indian Casinos. He was a huge fan of his sports teams, including the Lakers and the Dodgers, who he had rooted for since his childhood in Brooklyn. His sense of humor, empathy and compassion for people enabled him to be successful in business as well as his personal life. He brought warmth, joy, love and laughter to everyone in his world, and he touched and impacted the lives of so many around him. John will be greatly missed by his family, surviving children and grandchildren, Nicolas, and Evan. He was the cherished monarch of the Orienza family and will remain in our hearts and minds forever.

My heartfelt sympathy for the family with such a loss of your wonderful Dad. My late Husband Patrick Cooper used to cut your Mom Carmen’s hair and I cut your Dad’s hair for years. It was so much fun when they would both come in together and share funny stories.
Very special people and I’m sure you’ll miss them terribly.
May God bless you and comfort you,
Jeri Cooper

I am so sorry to hear about his passing. He and his family were good friends for some time. He was a very admirable man, and I had a lot of respect for him and his wife and his daughter Linda who was a close friend too. Visited them often at their home in San Pedro. When I bought a country western bar in Carson, he closed the deal for me.
I will always remember him fondly. May he rest in peace.
