Loretta Mary (Murray) Proctor September 26, 1933 - April 9, 2021 Loretta Mary (Murray) Proctor was born September 26, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY to proud parents John Francis and Mary Loretta. She spent the early years of her life living in Brooklyn and enjoying all of the benefits of being in a close-knit Irish community. In Loretta's early childhood, her family moved to California. Loretta's home in California was the town of San Pedro and she spent a lot of her teenage years experiencing movies at the Warner Grand and spending time with friends at the beach and parks. She met and married the love of her life, William (Bill) Proctor and together raised eight children. Loretta was known for her sharp wit, intelligence, and of course being a wonderful mother to her children, who she called the "the shining moments of her life." She worked for the State of California in the Department of Fish & Game for over 20 years. When she retired she left a hole that could not be filled. Later in life, Loretta & Bill made a new home in Menifee, CA where they spent many happy years together and enjoyed taking road trips to visit family and also vacation together, "just the two of them". After a long fight with Parkinson's disease, Loretta went to be with the Lord on April 9. 2021. She leaves behind her loving children, 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends. Her children Deborah Mullins, James (Jennifer) Proctor, Kathy (Mark) Kimbrough, John (Linda) Proctor, Michelle (Ron) Nunez, Virginia (Pentti) Jussila, Billie Gean (Gabriel) Proctor-Kelley and her son-in-law Don Gillenwater will hold her in their hearts forever. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, and her daughter Loretta Jean. Loretta will be remembered at Green Hills with services on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 11:30 am.
