04/13/1927 - 05/22/2021 On May 22, 2021 Stella Lucille (Salazar) Rukavina, age 94, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, graced with beauty and wit, peacefully passed of natural causes at her home in San Pedro, California with her family by her side. Born in Wyoming in 1927 to Alex and Pauline Salazar, Stella was the eldest of six children. After graduating from a Utah high school in 1947 she was employed by Western Union Co. and transferred to Los Angeles. That is where her life's course was fixed after a chance visit to Cabrillo Beach, San Pedro where she met the love of her life, Anthony A. Rukavina. After marrying in 1949 they had three children: Andrea, Janet and Anthony. When the children were older Stella became employed by the DMV. Stella is survived by daughters Andrea Hegybeli (Dan), Janet (Jim) Binns, daughter-in-law Suzanne Rukavina, eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, brother Paul (JoAnn) Salazar and many nephews and nieces.Stella is predeceased by her husband Anthony, son Anthony T. Rukavina, siblings Ben Salazar, Lily Bagnell, Alex Salazar, Virginia Keith, and "twin cousin" Elise Virgason. Stella was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren, leaving them a legacy of love. We commend her now to God's loving hands and thank Him for our loving Mother. God rest her soul.
