Walter Joseph Dutchak age 92 passed away on Tuesday Morning January 22, 2019, following an extended illness.
Walter was born March 27, 1926, in Oakburn, Manitoba, Canada to David and Marie Dutchak. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1942 to 1946 during World War II, remaining in the Marine Corps Reserve until 1949. He became a US Citizen on Jan 29, 1964. He married his wife Loretta in 1946 and retired from A T & T in Chicago where they had made their home. In 1984 they moved to Quay Valley. For many years
Walter was a member of the New Mexico State Police Mounted Patrol and the Quay County Sheriff Office and assisting the Tucumcari Police Department in that capacity.
He is survived by his wife Loretta of 72 years, one sister Jeannie Migiel of Michigan along with numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Dennis and Donna Townsend.
Services celebrating his life will be Friday January 25, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the St. Anne's Catholic Church. Following services there, he will be taken to his final resting place at Mt. Prospect, Illinois under the care of the Matz Funeral Home. Special thanks to Linda Sims, Quail Ridge Assisted Living and Tucumcari Hospice.
Local arrangements have been entrusted to the Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari New Mexico.
