CAMANCHE-Dennis L. Carlsen, 76, of Camanche, passed away, Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Genesis Medical Center – East, Davenport, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Monday, March 18, 2019 at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery – Camanche. Serving as pallbearers will be Calvin Leitzen, Jim Sowle, Joe Carstensen, Sam Shaff, Jon Lee, and Ryan Veenstra. Visitation will be 1:00pm to 5:00pm, Sunday, at the funeral home. Dennis Lynn Carlsen was born on August 14, 1942 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of William and Katherine (Roe) Carlsen. He was a 1961 graduate of DeWitt High School. He married Karen Fletcher on September 23, 1961 in DeWitt.

Dennis was a New York Life insurance agent for 50 plus years in Camanche. He was a member of the Clinton Gyro Club for over 30 years where he served as president for 12, was past District Governor of Gyro International serving from 2008-2009, Clinton Eagles Club, Clinton Moose Lodge, and a member of Monaco America. He enjoyed traveling in his motorhome across the country seeing family and friends.

Dennis is survived by his wife: Karen of Camanche; his son: Dennis W. (Karen) Carlsen of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, his daughter: Paula (Kory) Slade of LaGrange, Texas; five grandchildren: Matthew Althaus, Tysen Slade, Dennis "Buddy" Carlsen, Sam Carlsen, and Kailey Carlsen; his sisters: Maureen (Jeff) Hansen of Camanche, Lisa (Randy) Carlsen of Manorville, Minnesota, and his brother: Marvin (Melissa) Hill; sister-in-law: Cindy Carlsen of Rock Falls, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother: Gary; sister: Kathryn Ryner and his brother: Maurice Hill.
