Reeda, I'm sorry I'm so late signing Ernies book. Ernie and I go back to grade school at John Deere in East Moline. We are both the same age. He was a freind and as a brother that I never had. I can remember bieng in the school band with Ernie. He played trombone and I played drum. As time passed every time Ernie would want to take off from a gig he would call me to sub for him. He had some swinging groups. He wil be missed for sure, he was a gentleman and great freind. Lots of love.

Dear Reeda and family,
We will all miss Ernie very much. When Homer Carlson and I performed at the Plantation in Moline, it was so much fun playing opposite of Ernie's quartet. What I really remember of those great and happy times were our gab sessions after the gig when we all would go to breakfast in downtown Rock Island. We would all laugh until the wee hours. Ernie's quartet with Warren Parish, Bill Maxwell and Jack Scott was one of the best quartets I have ever heard in all my years in the music business. I am sure that he is still swinging! God Bless you and your family, Reeda. Love, Val

RIP Ernie,
It's been at least 40 years since I saw you last...I remember you being
a very nice man and a fellow drummer.
Tony Sotos told me you were living in Vegas.
God Bless You!

Ernie and I go back a long way. About 25+ years ago he was the first musician friend I met in the Quad Cities when I started performing at Ben's Gourmet House. In fact, Ben had booked Ernie and Warren at his establishment- and I worked opposite of them on the same couple of nights there.
I always marveled at Ernie's capacity for remembering the lyrics to all those songs he sang without "lyric sheets." He would sing one right after the other without missing a phrase. What a great "time keeper" as a drummer, too. He was always in the “pocket/groove” as we say in the business!
As for personality- Ernie was the man! His smile was always infectious. I didn’t know of one person that didn’t like Ernie. He always made me feel good every time we were together. We had some good times in the Quads!
I sincerely wish the best for his beautiful family and give them my most sincere condolences for their loss.
Sincerely,

I am a musician friend of Ernie, and an E-mail buddy of Reeda. My condolences to Reeda and all the family in their loss. Ernie was a good guy and a marvelous musician & entertainer. The Ernie George Quartet with Bill Maxwell, Jack Scott and Warren Parrish was one truly swingin' group here in the Quad Cities for years. Ernie will be missed.Sincerely,

To my beautiful children.....Pete, Annie and Jimmy.....
Your dad loved you more than words can say......each of you in his own way. He has always been proud of all of you beyond belief through all the years. The saddest day of his life was when all of you decided to move out of the house and be on your own. He was like a 'mother hen' in that respect but would never let you know that. We will miss him so much......and we have loved him so much....through so many difficult times and fun, wonderful times! Never will we forget him! I love all of you more than life! You are why I live!
My love to you forever,
Mom

That smiling face and friendly manner of Ernie's will be missed by many. We were friends for many years and, always found positive ground for our theme. Many of us enjoyed his trio for years, and those members of his "clan", Billy, Jack, Buddy, Warren, and Paul Barnard are part of the happy memories.

Sympathy to the family and friends of Ernie. I remember some great times with Ernie and his family after Aurora East basketball games. Ernie's enthusiasm for family and basketball was contagious to all..
