Helen L. Lemkau

Helen L. Lemkau, 88, of Muscatine, Iowa, died Monday, August 27, 2007, at Unity Hospital. Visitation for Helen will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2007, from noon until service time at 2 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial will be held at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Grace Lutheran Church. Helen was born July 28, 1919, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Emil and Paulina (Mackin) Gravert. On August 31, 1940, she was united in marriage to Orville "Shorty" Lemkau in Muscatine.
Helen will be deeply missed by her husband at home; three daughters, Joyce Reed and her husband, Randy, Patricia Kellor and her husband, Richard, and Linda Pace and her husband, Glen, all of Muscatine; seven grandchildren, Shelley Jones-Clark, Jeffrey Jones, Steven Edwards, Lynette Larson, Gregory Larson, Shawna Moss and Scott Pace; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Hall and Donna Martin, both of Muscatine.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Herman Gravert.
