Anna Mae Serabia October 30, 1929 - October 29, 2017 Ramona Anna Mae Serabia (Fuhrman), passed away peacefully after a short illness on October 29, 2017, at the Ramona Senior Manor, where she received excellent care and love in her final days. Known to many as Ann, she was born in Mound City, MO on October 30, 1929 to Walter and Addie Fuhrman. She was the youngest of twelve in the Fuhrman family. She grew up there until 1943, and moved west to Ramona with her parents and two other sisters, where her dad found work after selling the farm back east. Ann worked at Gilmores Drugstore at 9th & Main, graduated from Ramona High School and then married Joseph L. Serabia on June 15, 1947. She was an active mother in the Cub Scouts, PTA, and member of the Ramona Volunteer Fire Auxiliary. There she answered the local fire calls before 911, as Joseph was a fireman and assistant fire chief. Joseph and Ann raised two sons, Ronald was born in 1949 and Donald in 1953, while Joseph worked as a mechanic at Brown Chevrolet at 8th & Main. In the spring of 1965, they moved to Chula Vista where Joseph worked for the Sweetwater School Union District as a mechanic. Both boys finished schooling there and Joseph retired in 1991. They then moved to Escondido to be closer to family. Anna is survived by her son, Ronald (Kathy) of Ramona; four grandchildren: Jerry, Aaron, Patricia and Nichole; eight great-grandchildren: Sydney, Jasmine, Gracie, Faith, Thomas, Joseph, Jillian and Hannah. She was preceded in death by her parents, eleven siblings, son Donald; and her husband of 65 years, Joseph in 2012. She was laid to rest at the Nuevo Memorial Gardens in Ramona, on November 5, 2017, next to Joseph and Donald. Please sign the guest book online at legacy.com/obituaries/ ramonasentinel .
