Loretta E. Schannauer, 72, of Denver, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital.

She was born in Denver to the late Lloyd and Erla (Eberly) Leibig and was the wife of the late John Schannauer, who passed away in 2001.

She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed reading and

doing puzzles. Loretta worked as a seamstress for Keystone Nitewear and as a housekeeper for Reading Hospital.

Loretta is survived by a son, Michael E. Schannauer and fiancée, Sandra Snyder, of Denver; a daughter, Melissa, wife of Todd DeBock, of Ephrata; 5 grandchildren: Johnathan and Ryan Schannauer, Megan and Matthew DeBock and Hunter Snyder; and a brother, Kenneth L., husband of Sandra Leibig.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was

preceded in death by 3 sisters: Barbara Young, Charlotte Beckham and Carol Springer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019, from 1 to 3:00 p.m. at the Akron Fire Hall, 1229 Main St., Akron.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
