Melissa A. Messner, 52, of Bernville passed away Sunday, January 6th, in Tower Health, Reading Hospital.

Melissa shared a loving marriage of twenty-six years with her husband, Richard D. Messner.

Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late Ronald Himmelberger and Elizabeth (Bender) Himmelberger.

Melissa was a 1984 graduate of Tulpehocken High School. Melissa was formerly employed at Berks Heim for twenty-eight years. Melissa was a member of St. Thomas Church in Bernville.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Alyssa Messner, of Bernville. Also a sister, Deb Hosler, wife of Jerry Hosler, of Sinking Spring; a niece, Alison Hosler, also of Sinking Spring; and a nephew, Joseph Hosler of Arlington, Va. There is a sister-in-law, Elsie Ritchie, wife of Leon Ritchie; a niece, Makenna Ritchie; and a nephew, Logan Ritchie, all of Myerstown.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 11th, at 11 a.m. in the Kirkhoff Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Bernville, with Pastor Rev. Dr. Daniel Lute officiating.

A viewing will be held on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.

Interment will follow in Strausstown Cemetery.
