Shirley Boeshore Obituary

Shirley M. (Moyer) Boeshore Shirley M. (Moyer) Boeshore, 89, formerly of Berks County, passed away Sunday, January 17 at her home in Ellenton, Florida. She was the loving wife of the late Loring C. (Mick) Boeshore and the daughter of the late William C. Moyer and Effie M. (Dry) Magyar. Boeshore is survived by her daughters Cheryl DeVincentis (husband Keith) of Leland, NC and Lorie Boeshore of Ellenton, FL; two grandsons Shane Strause (wife Amy) of Guyton, GA and Michael DeVincentis (wife Nioka) of Front Royal, VA; and four great-grandchildren Delaney Strause, Jack Strause, Riley DeVincentis, and River DeVincentis. She was pre-deceased by her sister Jean P. (Moyer) Huber of Muhlenberg Township earlier this year. Boeshore was born in Reading and graduated from Reading High School. She and her late husband lived in Ruscombmanor Township until his retirement. They then moved to Long Neck, Delaware, where they enjoyed years of boating and fishing on the Rehoboth Bay. Boeshore was an active member of the Muhlenberg Junior Women’s Club, the Oley Valley Women’s Club and the Berks County Federation of Women’s Clubs. She also served on the board of the Berks County Parks and Recreation Department during the years Gring’s Mill Recreation Area was created. She was a talented homemaker and artist, well-known among friends for her series of lighthouse paintings. The family will hold a small memorial service in summer, where they will fulfill the final wish of the Boeshores. They will boat into the Atlantic Ocean, mingle the ashes of both husband and wife, and pour them into the sea. Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34283.

Lori and Cheri
Know the we are thinking of you during this sad time. Shirley was such a nice lady very talented too. I can remember playing in your basement as a young girl. Bon (Finch), Staci (Fick), Steve Brumbach and I were reminiscing about her and Mick when we seen her passing. You must have wonderful stories, trips and adventures of her life. Be sure to let these great memories keep her alive in your hearts!

We were all deeply saddened to learn of Aunt Shirley’s passing. There are so many wonderful memories over a lifetime. She is at peace now and with Uncle Mick, mom, Nanny and Poppy. Know our hearts are breaking and there will be another hole that will never be filled. Thoughts and prayers for you all.

Cheryl and Lorie, We are very sorry to hear about your mother. Your family was a great neighbor to us. Our mothers shared a love of family and sewing. And our fathers..well... They shared a beer or two! We were very grateful for the support your family gave us after our mother died. We have many good memories of Old Oley Road. May she rest in peace. The Apgar girls
