George D. Madison 1929~2018 George D. Madison, formerly of Upper Lake, passed away on January 9, 2018, at home in Yuma, Arizona. George was born June 2, 1929, in Bakersfield. His family moved to Upper Lake in the late 1930s where George graduated from Upper Lake High School in 1947. In April 1950, George married Eleanore Sotter Garzini of Ukiah. They had four daughters, Susan, Sharon, Linda and Dorla. George worked for Antoni Truck Lines before joining the California Highway Patrol in 1958 and was assigned to the Baldwin Park office. In 1967, George was injured while on duty and placed on disability retirement. In 1968, George and Eleanore divorced. In 1983 George became owner, operator and often driver of Stateline Transportation Inc., a heavy haul and flatbed trucking service in Yuma. In 1987 George married Ann Hussey Madison in Yuma. George is survived by his wife, Ann; his daughters, Susan (Jim) Dias of Aptos; Linda Madison and Dorla Johnson of Paradise; three granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; his sisters, Yvonne Jones and Judy (Orville) Barney of Ukiah; brother, Clifford of Lakeport; nephews, Steve (Pam) Jones and Carl Madison of Upper Lake; nieces, Jann (Mark) Lanz and Laura (Matt) Barker of Ukiah, and Lisa (Neil) Kaufman of Windsor.
