John Ford Obituary
John was born in Fall River, MA, on June 30, 1946 to the late Henry E. Ford and Ethel (Halpin) Ford. They relocated to Wallingford, CT, where John attended Lyman Hall High School.
John served honorably with the 3rd Marine Division in Vietnam.
After his service in the Marines, John held jobs as a metal spinner at Wallace Silversmiths, service manager at Hartford Harley Davidson and at ADC Broadband Communications.
John was a proud member of The Senior League Billiards Club out of Shooters in Southington as well as the Franco-American Club in Meriden, Hamden Fish & Game and the Meriden Rod & Gun Club. He also served as Assistant Scout Master with Boy Scout Troop 44.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children: Maynard Lumbra (Jenn Hull) of Cromwell, Jacqueline Weiss (Joseph) of Glastonbury, and Thomas Appell of Meriden. He leaves behind his most cherished grandchildren who will miss their Pepe dearly: Cael, Bryce, Kenzy, Vivienne, Nicholas, Alex, Camille and Tommy as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, John is predeceased by his brother, Henry R. Ford, his sister, Arlene Schweikert and his uncle and best friend, Thomas Halpin.
The family would like to thank the West Haven VA for his care throughout the years.

I'll miss you and john at guidas mondays,although since Normans passing I haven't been there.John and Norm will be together in the same area at sacred heart.I'll always miss his smiling face.I'll also think of him if I eat beef jerky.

I met John when he came to my high school in Meriden at Wilcox Tech and talked about his time in Vietnam. I told him i wanted to serve in the marines as well and did after i graduated in 2016. It was an honor to hear his story in Vietnam.

John was one of the most amazing men that I have had the privilege of working with in Scouting. He had a fantastic way with the boys. He was a wonderful teacher and a true Scouter. I will always cherish the year that we spent together.
