I remember many things about my uncle Rob:
the Boa Constrictor he brought back from California after he was in the service-the snake fed on mice that Rob kept in my grandmother's basement (I have NO idea how he got away with that).
I remember Rob and my dad making homemade plastic worms for fishing lures, the smell of the liquid plastic almost made me pass out (I have no idea how my DAD got away with THAT in my mother's house!)
I remember Rob, my dad, and uncle Ray catching fish on Sebago Lake in Maine. One year I think they caught an eel. They kept poking it in the face to keep it in the net.
I remember Rob screaming and carrying on about politics with my dad, mom, and grandfather at Sunday dinners (and picnics, and birthdays, and anniversaries….)
I remember fishing with Rob-well, he hooked the fish himself, then gave the rod to me. So who really caught that fish?
I remember that my uncle Rob had a mustache that made him look like Cheech Marin-or-Super Mario-take your pick.
I remember being with a supremely proud uncle Rob when Ashley was born, and I got to hold her when she was not even 24 hours old.
I remember the joy on Andrea's face when Rob gave her an engagement ring that Christmas.
I remember the tear in Rob's eye as he danced with Ashley at her wedding.
And I will always remember the last thing I did with Rob, doing a shot of Ribera Gold with the family at Ashley's wedding.
But the single most memorable thing is that familiar Ribera way of telling you he didn't hear you….'Hehhhh'?
Well, my Dear Uncle Rob, I hope that you can hear us all when we say, we love you dearly, and will miss you.

My Mother, Donna Ribera, Rob's sister in law writes:
What can I say about Rob, my only sibling? I dragged him into conversations on politics and life. We butt heads often and sometimes he'd drive us up a wall, and we'd think it was just Rob being Rob. But that was the key to him.
Rob was first, always true to himself. He was an old fashioned, straight shooter, who did what he thought might was right. We never butt heads over family and love, and if you did your best, he was your biggest supporter.
Those who spent time with Rob didn't do that over tea or a dinner. His heart was on the land, with Andrea in the garden. His heart was on the boat (you Know he was a fish Magnet) and he was deeply happy to share that with Ashley.
What he could make, what he could do-with his hands-pleased him. He just didn't know was that he was building a loyal and loving group of family and friends.

"Ribs": I will miss your seeing your happy face at Middletown Test. Every time I had to go to test to troubleshoot a problem on Cheshire's engines, it was always a pleasure to see you. You will be missed by all of us...especially your smile.
May the happy memories shared by all who knew you give your family, friends, and co workers strength now and always.

Rest in peace Bob. We were friends back in Washington Jr High School. I remember mini bikes, lots of laughs, and his hot peppers back then too! My condolences to his family and friends.
