Steven Freed Obituary

S. Craig Freed, 63, of Telford, PA, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021, at Grand View Hospital. He was the husband of Julie Schrauger Freed for 34 years.

Born March 16, 1957, in Telford, PA, he was the son of Helen (Adams) Freed and the late Lester N. Freed.

Craig was an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Souderton, PA, where he served on church council, was a faithful choir member, and served as youth advisor. In his free time, he greatly enjoyed kayaking at dawn, fishing, SCUBA diving, creating home DIY projects, and spending time in Cape May, NJ. Known as a guy who would do anything for anyone, he did that frequently in his own quiet way.

Craig was employed as a Parts Manager for over 30 years at Indian Valley Camping Center, Souderton, PA.

In addition to his wife and mother, Craig is survived by a son Evan, of Lansdale, PA, as well as sisters Susan Leidy (Olin) of Green Lane, PA, and Sandra Freed Thomas (Russ) of Greenfield, MA. Craig also leaves nephew, Scott R. Thomas of Great Barrington, niece, Kimberly Thomas Hake (Paul), a great-niece, Harper, and a great-nephew Julian, all of Leyden, a nephew David O. Leidy (Corrina) and great-nephews, Calvin and Barry, all of Sorrento, FL; and a nephew Brian M. Leidy (Stacy), and great-nieces, Jada and Sienna, all of Green Lane, PA, along with many in-laws and cousins throughout the country.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM February 6 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 69 West Broad St. Souderton, PA. Memorial contributions may be made in Craig's memory to, Emmanuel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
