Carol A. Springer of The Villages, FL and formerly of Sparrowbush, NY died Sunday, March 22, 2020 at home with her husband Dennis. She was 74.
She was born October 13, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Willis E. James, Jr. and the late Stephanie J. Kotula James.
Carol was a high school math teacher within the Port Jervis City School District. She was also a cheerleading advisor and coached the women's 3 on 3 basketball team to an undefeated record.
She married Dennis M. Springer 51 years ago on December 21st, 1968 in Queens, NY.
A family statement read: "Carol was a loving wife, mother, nana, sister and aunt who loved to bake. She was an avid reader and loved to play cards to keep her mind sharp."
Surviving are her husband: Dennis Springer at home; daughter:Kimberly Roche and her husband, John of Orangeburg, NY; two sons: Christopher Springer and his wife, Joann of Cornwall, NY, Matthew Springer and his companion, Valerie Burke of Croton-on-Hudson, NY; two sisters: Barbara Lange and her husband, Leonard of North Plainfield, NJ, and Linda Russell and her husband, Robert of Glen Spey, NY; grandson: Ryan James Springer; granddaughter: Eleanor Grace Springer; also several nieces and nephews.
Due to the recent events taking place in the world there will be no visitation or services at this time.
A memorial service and burial in St Mary's Cemetery in Port Jervis, NY will take place in the future at a time which will be determined.
