I met Frank in '83 as a new employee at IBM Component Procurement. PC's were new and all the rage. Frank not only knew how they worked but was happy to explain to others. Frank worked in the Micro Lab which gave him free range to any electronic experiment he could think of. We both went on to get Amateur Radio licenses and we talked on our radios over the Hudson. I was from NJ and Frank was able to slowly educate me to the ways and culture of the Hudson Valley. He was always smart. He was always helpful. I will miss him.

I met Frank in the early 1980’s while we both worked in IBM CCP. PC’s were really taking off in the world and CCP sourced components from semiconductor companies everywhere.

Frank’s humor and easy going manner drew the rest of us into the lab like flies. Many times he would patiently explain technical details of some new product, and I would nod dumbfounded on the width and breadth of his technical acumen. Simply put, Frank was great fun to be around and many of us found any excuse to sneak down to the lab.

Those were times in IBM that people like Frank made the job special for people like me.
