I was very, very lucky to have Don and the Routh family as my second family during my teenage years in Red Bluff. Don gave me my first job of washing cars at night with friends and I still think of him whenever I get to hand-washing one. I was so fortunate to go on family adventures with the Rouths so Don taught me how to water ski, snow ski, and catch salmon in the ocean. Too many memories to write here. I will always remember Don's infectious enthusiasm and the interest he always took in my life. His love for his wife and family was the most important thing to him. I'm very sad I can't be with the Routh family on Friday. I will be with them in spirit and hopefully visit soon.
