1930 - 2017 In Memoriam Condolences
Betty Orveta Stapp January 3, 1930 December 16, 2017 Betty Orveta Stapp passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on December 16. Born on January 3, 1930 in Liberal, Kansas, her parents Charles and Della Green moved their family to Longbeach when Betty, the youngest of 13 children, was in elementary school. She married Darrel Stapp in 1946, who preceded her in death eleven years ago, and they raised their two daughters in Gerber. She is survived by her oldest daughter Jeanette (Dave) Dillabo of Live Oak, brother Orville (Betty) Green of Eloy, AZ, granddaughters Dr. Janeen (John) Zambo of Modesto, Lisa (Jeff) Zellers of Hartville, OH, Nicole (Troy) Adams of Fallon, NV and grandsons Bill Harvey of Red Bluff, and David (Emily) Dillabo of Live Oak. And she was loved dearly by her ten greatgrandchildren. In addition to her loving husband, Darrel, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter Karen Boes of Red Bluff. Her love and joy were her family. A talented homemaker and dedicated mom and grandmother, Betty spent hours sharing with her girls and grandchildren the art of baking and gardening. While both she and Darrel cherished time with dear friends, they truly dedicated their lives to supporting and engaging with their kids and grandchildren. Like "Papa," she will be dearly missed. We are thankful to God for the time we had and the priceless memories that remain, including adventure-filled travel trailer trip experiences of camping and fishing. On Monday January 8 her family gathered in Live Oak for an intimate celebration of life. Praise be to God for gifting us with her devotion and love she was truly an angel and we are grateful that our angel is finally home with Papa. "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." ~ 1 Corinthians 13:13
