In Memoriam Condolences

BRADFORD D. ALLEN Bradford (Brad) D. Allen passed away at home on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at the age of 66, following a lengthy illness. Brad was a Red Bluff native, attending and graduating from local schools and attending Chico State University. Following college Brad worked in various fields, including owning and operating a taxidermy business in Chico, CA during the 1980's. He continued to provide taxidermy services during and after his employment with Pacific Gas and Electric, where he was employed for over 30 years, earning an Excellence in Employment certificate. Brad was a star basketball and football player in high school, assisting the Red Bluff Spartans to attain many championships. He was also an avid outdoorsman from an early age. His passion for the outdoors and sportsmen's activities endured his entire life. Brad liked nothing better than to rise in the early hours of the day and slog through the mud and water to bird hunt in the local marshes. His keen "eagle eyes" helped him with his deer, elk, and bear hunting in his native California, and his many hunting trips to the Western states. He was especially fond of Montana. Brad's life was forever changed when, at age 27, he was diagnosed with Type I diabetes. It was a disease which would eventually impact his entire health and affect his life dramatically. Throughout his life, he faced these challenges with courage and perseverance. Brad was known for his generous nature, in heart and deed. He was blessed with a wide circle of friends who were by his side through the good and bad times in life. His love of his dogs, especially Sam and Blue, both now deceased, were well known among his family and friends, and it was rare for him not to have them with him. Brad is survived by sister Sandra (Michael) Stafford, Novato, CA; nieces Shauna Stafford La Brash, Lakeport, CA; Christina Stafford, Reno, NV; nephews Dale Allen, Red Bluff, CA; Craig Allen, Central Point, OR and former wife Julie Mattoon Garnett, Chico, CA. Brad was preceded in death by his beloved mother and father, Joseph D. and Fern Allen, Red Bluff, CA; sister, Sindra Claudia Allen, and brother Ted Allen, Red Bluff, CA. A Memorial Service is planned in the near future; the date to be announced. Burial will be private. The family requests and appreciates donations be made to The , In Memory of Bradford D. Allen, P.
