DONALD WILLIAM ROSE In Memoriam
Donald William Rose 1932-2018 Don passed away peacefully on January 9th, 2018 at the age of 85, at Shasta Regional Medical Center in Redding, CA. He was born June 6th, 1932 in North Platte, Nebraska, to Charles and Hazel Rose. He spent 4 years in the military, serving as a SSGT Airman First Class US Air Force. He attended Healds Business College, worked as a book keeper for Phillips 66 Oil Company, was Administrator for the Tehama County General Hospital, and later worked at Stoll's Auto Supply. Later in life he worked at the Valero gas station in Red Bluff, where he enjoyed building friendships and talking with the public. Don was a 50-year member and Past Master (1972) of Vesper Masonic Lodge #84 in Red Bluff. As the lodge's Candidate and Officer's Coach, he had a direct hand in assisting nearly every new member that came into the lodge. He was a Hiram Award recipient in 1995. Don leaves behind his wife, Patricia Rose, of 60 years, his sister Charlene Votaw of Wellfleet NE, daughters Pam Maret (Bruce) of Red Bluff, Lori Miles (Larry Ball) of Cottonwood, son Gregory Rose (Linda) of Red Bluff, grandchildren Matthew Miles, Misty Villavicencio, Celia Lee, Kristi Gadbois, Laurie De La Torre, Gregory Miles, Nicole Jimenez, Katie Redfield, and Breanna Rose. He also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, and his brothers Denny Rose and Otis Rose. A memorial service will be held at Vesper Masonic Lodge in Red Bluff, CA., 822 Main Street, on Sunday, January 21st, 2018 at 1:00 PM. Parking is available in the east parking lot behind the building. Don will be laid to rest during a private ceremony at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery in Igo. In leu of flowers, donations may be made to a .
